Caiola and Bre Kennedy Bring New Music and Personal Stories to Charlotte
By Scott Jelleyman, Editor, Queen City Backstage
Two songwriters with distinct musical paths will share the bill at Charlotte’s Visulite Theatre on Friday, November 6, 2026. Caiola headlines, with Bre Kennedy supporting, connecting Philadelphia’s indie-folk scene with Nashville’s songwriting community. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show beginning at 8 p.m.
Both artists arrive with recent albums to explore, giving listeners a chance to get acquainted with their newest work before the Charlotte stop.
Caiola: From Mo Lowda to a More Personal Sound
Jordan Caiola is a Philadelphia-based songwriter, musician and producer who founded Mo Lowda & The Humble in 2010. While the band became a major focus of his touring life, his solo project gave him room to pursue the folk songwriting he had long considered a natural fit.
The pandemic shutdown provided time to record his debut solo album, Only Real When Shared. Its follow-up, This Could Be Everything, expanded the catalog, while his third album, For Times of Chaos, arrived in August 2026. His official biography describes the newest record as his most stripped-down and minimal work to date.
Start listening with “Only Real When Shared,” “Own Medicine” and “Hotel Toothbrush,” then explore the newer album. Listen to Caiola.
Bre Kennedy: Nashville Songwriting with an Introspective Voice
Nashville-based Bre Kennedy’s background includes supporting The Paper Kites, Joy Oladokun and Sheryl Crow, alongside headline performances at Exit/In and The Basement East. Her songwriting collaborators include Lori McKenna, with whom she co-wrote “Before I Have a Daughter.”
Her album The Alchemist, released January 30, 2026, adds another chapter to a catalog that includes Note to Self and Scream Over Everything. Tracks include “Grassroots,” “Baby Blue,” “Willow” and “Good Grief.” For a broader introduction, add “Whirlwind,” “Note to Self,” “Looking For” and “Retrospect” to your pre-show listening. Listen to Bre Kennedy.
The November Tour’s Charlotte Stop
Charlotte follows listed dates in Raleigh on November 4 and North Charleston on November 5. Both artists’ concert listings also include later November stops in Texas and Nashville, placing Visulite within a wider run of shared dates.
What Do Past Setlists Tell Us?
The November 6 selections and running order remain unconfirmed. A fan-documented Caiola performance in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on March 15, 2025 included “Only Real When Shared,” “Own Medicine,” “Los Angeles,” “Red Eye,” “Wolves” and “Hotel Toothbrush.” That show predates For Times of Chaos.
A documented Bre Kennedy set at Mercury Lounge on April 27, 2026 included “Whirlwind,” “Intuition,” “Retrospect,” “Baby Blue,” “Willow,” “Good Grief” and “The Alchemist.” Her supporting slot in Charlotte may differ. These examples are a listening guide, not a confirmed Charlotte setlist.
