Biketoberfest Invites Charlotte to Take a Different Route
A familiar city can feel different when the route becomes part of the afternoon. Sustain Charlotte’s Biketoberfest returns Sunday, October 11, inviting participants to explore neighborhoods, local businesses and community destinations through a scavenger-hunt-style adventure.
The organizer welcomes people traveling by bicycle, on foot, or with public transit as part of their trip. Participants use a mobile-friendly platform to find destinations and complete challenges at their own pace. Costumes are encouraged, and the event supports Sustain Charlotte’s work on transportation choices and a more connected city. Read the organizer’s overview. The published registration schedule begins with a gathering at Triple C Brewing at 11:30 a.m., including participant support and complimentary bike checks. The route opens at noon and closes at 4:30 p.m., when the after-party begins with music, vendors and other activities. Check the event-day schedule. The attraction is the freedom to look around. A business passed on the commute can become a stop; a neighborhood can become somewhere to explore rather than somewhere to cross. The challenges give the outing a structure while leaving space for participants to make it their own.
Triple C Brewing is at 2900 Griffith Street. Consult the registration page for current prices and participation requirements, and review the route information before setting out.
