Lalah Hathaway Brings a Voice of Her Own to Knight Theater

Some singers make a room lean in. Lalah Hathaway belongs in that conversation, and her October 7 appearance at Knight Theater gives Charlotte listeners a chance to spend an evening with an artist whose work moves between soul, R&B and jazz.

A career beyond one category

Blumenthal Arts describes Hathaway as a five-time Grammy winner whose seven solo albums sit alongside collaborations with artists including Pharrell Williams and Kendrick Lamar. That range helps explain her appeal: she brings a recognizable musical identity to very different settings.

The Charlotte concert is presented by Blumenthal Arts and The Sol Kitchen. It is a chance to hear the singer in a theater setting rather than treat the night as a checklist of familiar songs.

The Charlotte date

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Knight Theater at Levine Center for the Arts. Visit the official event and ticket page for seating, availability and current offers.
